We’re building community…
MULCH MADNESS!
Carrier Park Tree Mulching Event
Saturday, October 23rd 9:00am – 12:00 noon

The Town of DeWitt Tree Committee, with the support of the Onondaga Environmental Institute, and the DeWitt Advisory Conservation Commission (DACC) are looking for volunteers to help with “Mulch Madness;” a tree mulching event at DeWitt’s Carrier Park recreation facility.

The event will be on October 23rd from 9:00am to 12:00 noon. As you know, healthy trees are essential to our overall environment; from helping to mitigate flooding, to keeping our streams oxygen-rich living bodies of water, trees are integral to our quality of life.

This event not only supports the health of our many trees at Carrier Park, it’s also a great way to come together and “build community.” Bring your neighbors, your friends, your students, your work associates, and most of all…bring the kids and their friends! This is a great way for young people to gain practical experience supporting their environment and their community.

We provide the mulch and the tools; we ask volunteers to bring their own work gloves and to dress both for the weather, and to protect against ticks, which are still active in Fall.

Join us for this fun Fall community building event! Carrier Park is located at 1033 Kinne St., East Syracuse, 13057. For more information, please contact Amy Samuels, Education and Outreach Coordinator, Onondaga Environmental Institute, asamuels@oei2.org or 315 424-9485 x13.
