Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the Town of DeWitt Court is not currently seeing  VEHICLE & TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS  in person.  If you have been issued a MISDEMEANOR traffic ticket, your appearance is required for arraignment.    The Court Clerks office is open M-F, 8:30-4:30 for you to make a plea and/or make payments.

For CRIMINAL MATTERS & DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED CASES, your appearance is required  IN PERSON  on the date of your Appearance ticket or Misdemeanor Vehicle and Traffic ticket. 

Should you have a matter requiring immediate attention, you may contact the Town of DeWitt Court in writing by either emailing your request to or by mailing your written inquiry to the Town of DeWitt Court at 5400 Butternut Drive, East Syracuse, New York 13057.  Please be as specific as possible in your written request and be sure to provide your name, birthdate,  return address and telephone number.  Court staff will address your inquiry upon their receipt. You may also contact the Court by telephone at 315-446-9180 for last names A-K and 315-446-7136 for last names M-Z.

Court Hours
Court is held in the DeWitt Town Hall Courtroom the first four weeks of each month, unless court sessions are cancelled due to a holiday/bad weather, on Tuesdays for Judge David S. Gideon and on Wednesdays for Judge Robert L. Jokl Jr.  Court begins at 6:00pm with doors opening approximately one half hour before Court. Please check this website for updates on  closings due to weather or emergency as they will be posted as an alert on the homepage.
