New! Mulch Madness 2022

Volunteers Needed! The Town of DeWitt Tree Committee, in partnership with the Onondaga Environmental Institute and the Town Recreation Dept. and DeWitt Advisory Conservation Commission are looking for volunteers to help with “Mulch Madness;” a tree mulching event at DeWitt’s Carrier Park recreation facility.

The event is Saturday, October 15th from 9:00 to 11:00am. Bring the kids, too! Mulch Madness is a great way for young people to be a part of a fun community-building event and also gain practical experience supporting their environment.

The Town will provide the mulch and the tools; volunteers are asked to bring their own work gloves and to dress both for the weather and to protect against ticks, which are still active in Fall.

Carrier Park is located at 1033 Kinne St., East Syracuse, 13057. For more information, please contact Amy Samuels, Education and Outreach Coordinator, Onondaga Environmental Institute, asamuels@oei2.org or 315 424-9485 x13.
