Can I pay my fines over the phone or online?
The court does not accept payments over the telephone or online. You can mail in your payment via money order, bank check, or with your credit card information at the bottom of your fine notice. You can mail your payment to the DeWitt Town Court 5400 Butternut Dr East Syracuse, NY 13057. Please note, there is a 2.99% fee associated with a credit card/debit card. You can also appear at the Court Clerks office Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm at the DeWitt Town Hall and pay, where you may use any method of payment besides personal checks. Personal checks received will be returned to sender.
Can I lift my suspension without paying my fine?
You must pay all monies due associated with your tickets as well as scoff fees. We cannot accept a scoff lift fee without the fine being paid if the scoff is due to non payment.
*The governemnt has not passed legislation prohibiting suspensions for failure to pay to date.*
How do I address my arrest/bench warrant?
You may either present yourself in court during a regular scheduled court night (Tuesday - last names beginning with A-K or Wednesday - last names beginning with L-Z) or to the arresting agency ie: Town of DeWitt Police, Onondage County Sheriff's Department or New York State Police.
*If you have an arrest warrant, you will need to be processed and fingerprinted* while a bench warrant can be handled by appearing in front of the appropriate Town Justice.
