Zoning Update Program

Welcome to the Town of DeWitt’s Zoning Update Program. These are local rules for the use, protection and development of land in the Town of DeWitt outside the Village of East Syracuse. Many of the current codes were adopted over 40 years ago. The need to modernize these codes was recognized when the Town Board unanimously adopted its “Comprehensive Plan 2002 for the Town of DeWitt”


On Monday, September 8, 2008 (7:30 PM) the Town Board will entertain question and comments in a series of public hearings on topics including wind and solar energy conversion systems, Jamesville Hamlet zoning rules and map changes, storage of vehicles in residential areas, business overlay district in Hi-Tech districts, curb cut and driveway rules and several additional technical changes in zoning and allied codes.
