TOWN CLERK

TOWN RECORDS

The Town Clerk is the Records Management Officer for the town. The custody, storage and disposition of all town records are the Town Clerk’s responsibility.  Additionally, the Town Clerk is the Freedom of Information Law Officer, administering the program which ensures access to most town documents.  Some records, such as the Town Board Minutes and the Ordinance Book, are readily available for viewing and can be seen during regular business hours.  Other documents need time to locate and review before being released: a written request pursuant to the Freedom of Information Law may be required for them.  All requests to review specific documents should be directed to the Town Clerk’s Office.  For more information regarding the Freedom of Information Law visit the New York State Department of State web site.

The town does not maintain geneology records.  The best resource locally is the Onondaga County Historic Association.
