Welcome to the Special Events page!
Every year the Town of DeWitt hosts a number of special events for all ages. Several events have been traditions in DeWitt for 20+ years while others, like the Youth Fishing Derby and Fall Festival, are recent additions to our yearly calendar. We are proud to announce that our newest event, the Valentine's Day Father/Daughter Dance, was a huge success and will be expanded to accommodate twice the number of participants next year!
Select an event from the list on the left for general information and event photos. Information on upcoming events can be found here or on the events calendar. If you have an idea for a new event or are interested in becoming an event sponsor, contact Megan Ball at (315) 446-3910 x 127 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keep an eye out for these new events in 2014:
Discovery Day: Saturday, May 3, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at the DeWitt Town Hall
Join the Town of DeWitt in conjunction with the DeWitt Advisory Conservation Commission (DACC), Tree Committee and Sustainability Committee at our first Discovery Day!
This FREE family event is open to anyone that is interested in learning about the environment, conservation, tree biology and planting, alternative energy and much more! Our theme this year is "Think Global - Act Local."
Children will enjoy our Discovery Room filled with hands on activities, experiments and crafts projects. The Rosamond Gifford Zoo will present some of their "Zoo to You" animals. Families can build a birdhouse, learn about locally made products and get information about important environmental issues like EAB.
Mother/Son Rockin’ Bowl: Saturday, May 17, 5:30 – 8:00pm at Bowl Mor Lanes
We invite mothers/mother figures and sons (grades 1-5) to join us for a special event just for you! Enjoy a fun-filled night featuring bowling, pizza and soda, music and prizes.
Pairs wearing fun team outfits will be entered to win a great prize. Outfits will be judged on coordination and creativity. Just make sure you are comfortable enough to bowl the night away! Grand prizes will be awarded to the mother/son pair with the best bowling outfits and the son with the highest bowling score of the night.
Two teams per lane. Please indicate if there is a team you would like to bowl with at the time of registration. We encourage children to bring their own white soled shoes or bowling shoes.
Fee: $25 per team
