CONCERTS IN THE PARK

All concerts are free and held on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm at Ryder Park (adjacent to DeWitt Town Hall). Over the years we've been entertained by the likes of Stroke, Dan Elliott, Tom Gilbo & the Blue Suedes and our regular fan favorite The Mario DeSantis Band with Maria DeSantis and special guests.  Concessions provided by Applebee's.


The 2013 concert line-up will be available online and in the Summer Brochure in May.

CANAL DAY

A family festival hosted by the Parks & Recreation Department that takes place on the first Saturday in August. Throughout the day there's entertainment, children's games, historic displays and a variety of food, beverage and craft vendors. As evening approaches, a locally known band takes the main stage and plays everyone's favorites and classics. Finally, Canal Day comes to a close with a spectacular fireworks display.

HOLIDAY LIGHTING FESTIVITIES

Join in the annual holiday happenings at Ryder Park, adjacent to the DeWitt Town Hall, on the first Friday of December. Entertainment commences at 6:30pm come and enjoy the lighting ceremony, refreshments and a surprise visitor. Bring the entire family out for this holiday celebration! FREE



HERSHEY TRACK AND FIELD

The annual meet of the Hershey's National Track and Field Youth Program for 9-14 year olds (as of 12/31 of the current year) is held in June. The 2012 event will be held in Skaneateles. Events include 50, 100, 200 meter dashes, 400, 800, 1600 meter runs, 4x100 relay, standing long jump and softball throw. Youth compete according to age and gender. Ribbons are awarded to all participants. Birth certificate is required with registration. This is a FREE event.

FALL FESTIVAL
A huge thanks to all of the families that came out to support our first Not-So-Haunted Howling Hayride! The event was a great success and we are excited to bring it back again in 2013! Information will be available online and in the Fall Brochure in September.

HOWLING HAYRIDE

The 22nd Annual Howling Hayride was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came out to support one of our longest running programs!

YOUTH FISHING DERBY

This is a FREE event, open to all children ages 5-15. Fishing permitted in Ryder Park pond only. Registration begins at 9:00am sharp; fishing begins at 9:30am. All registered children will receive a prize. Additional prizes will be awarded to the largest and smallest fish caught in different age categories. Rods, reels, tackle, and bait will be provided. Personal poles permitted, however, single barbless hooks ONLY. Absolutely NO treble hooks. Live bait only. Catch and release only. Parents are encouraged to accompany and assist children but should NOT actively engage in fishing. Refreshments will be provided.


 

The 3rd Annual Youth Fishing Derby was cold but fun! Thanks to everyone who came out and made the event a success! A special thanks to all of the volunteers who make the event possible. We wouldn't be able to do it with you. Thanks to our 2012 sponsors! The DeWitt Police Benevolent Association and Tim Hortons.
