SPECIAL EVENTS

Welcome to the Special Events page!

Every year the Town of DeWitt hosts a number of special events for all ages. Several events have been traditions in DeWitt for 20+ years while others, like the Youth Fishing Derby and Fall Festival, are recent additions to our yearly calendar. We are proud to announce that our newest event, the Valentine's Day Father/Daughter Dance, was a huge success and will be expanded to accommodate twice the number of participants next year!

Select an event from the list on the left for general information and event photos. Information on upcoming events can be found here or on the events calendar. If you have an idea for a new event or are interested in becoming an event sponsor, contact Megan Ball at (315) 446-3910 x 127 or mball@townofdewitt.com.

Discovery Day

Thank you to all exhibitors and participants in our first ever Discovery Day! It was a very successful event. For those who missed it, it was a totally free event where members of the community came together to celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day. The success of the event is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment that each of the exhibitors, coordinators  and participants put into it.

A special thank you to: East Syracuse Minoa High School’s Phil Kugler and his construction class for preparing all the bird and bat houses, Minoa Elementary School’s Mrs. Todd and her 5th grade classroom for creating a Sustainable Community, Byrne Dairy for donating chocolate milk, Natur-Tyme for donating a gift certificate, Rosamond Gifford Zoo for donating a family 4-pack of tickets, Tandy Leather for donating a leather making kit, SUNY-ESF for the display of insects, birds, and mammals, and to all of the exhibitors, participants, volunteers, and staff that gave their time to this event.
