SWING DANCE LESSONS
LEARN TO SWING DANCE (AGE 18+)
This class with veteran Swing Dance teacher, Lynn Miller, will introduce you to rhythm awareness and footwork fundamentals. A strong emphasis will be placed on “hearing” and “responding to” rhythmic patterns in the music in order to help you find your own “natural” dance.  While the central focus is on Swing Dance skills, what you learn is applicable to most other forms of American social dance, making them ideally suited for anyone with an upcoming wedding, anniversary or other special occasion.

Swing Dance Basics+1 (Beginner/Advanced Beginner) – 5:30-6:30pm
In track one we teach to the lowest skill level in the class.  If you’ve never had a dance class before, or if you’ve had difficulty learning basic steps in the past, this is the class for you.

Swing Dance Basics+2 (Advanced Beginner/Intermediate) – 6:30-7:30pm
In track two we teach to the average level of dancers in the class.  The expectation is that you will have some awareness of, and some proficiency with basic dance skills to be most successful in this class.  If you have trouble keeping up, please plan to come to the earlier class first.

Session I and II will be offered at the Jamesville DeWitt High School Cafeteria and Session III at Galster Pavilion, Ryder Park.

Session II:  Tuesdays, June 5 – June 26  Fee: $40 Residents  $45 All others

Butterfly Garden Planning

The once beloved Butterfly House has been stuck in a partial metamorphosis for far too long.  It has been encased its very own chrysalis preparing to emerge like a newly hatched butterfly.  We invite your participation in completing this transformation. The Butterfly House will become a beautiful Pollinator Meadow that not only encourages the passing bee, butterfly, or moth to stop and taste the nectar but also invites the passerby to sit, observe and enjoy.  Please come and help us in the planning stage so that this project can be completed.. We invite people of all ages to join.
