Carrier Park is excited to celebrate it's one year anniversary with a spectacular celebration including Symphoria and the park's first fireworks show. This free family event will give many families the first opportunity to tour Carrier Park and see the two baseball fields that have been active for two seasons. The entrance includes newly installed bricks honoring many of the Syracuse Challenger baseball families and players that play at the park, as well as other supporters of Carrier Park. Bricks and benches will be available to be purchased as well as commemorative tee shirts. Families can bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the sounds of Symphoria. Fireworks will kick off after the symphony. Concessions will be open with plenty of hot dogs and snacks to keep the crowds happy. Parking and Admission is free. Donations will be accepted for Carrier Park and Symphoria. Overflow parking will be available in the Carrier lots.
The Carrier Park Field of Dreams is on its way to becoming the leading, fully handicapped accessible, all-inclusive outdoor multi-sports athletic complex in the region. This facility, opened in 2016, is designed for the use and enjoyment of both local residents and visitors to Central New York. The Town of DeWitt, along with local companies and volunteers recognized the need for an outdoor multi-sports facility within the Central New York community and mobilized to make this “Field of Dreams” a reality.
The 28 acres of land donated by the Carrier Corporation will be transformed into a complex that will include up to nine championship tournament quality fields, accommodating Syracuse Challenger Baseball and Little League Baseball. Included in the project are two dynamically designed super turf fields, which can be utilized for baseball, softball, lacrosse, soccer and football and other special events. The park expansion will also include basketball courts, an all-inclusive special needs playground and a walking trail.
