It is a program of the Food Bank of Central New York designed to help individuals and families s-t-r-e-t-c-h their food dollars by ordering quality food at low prices.
How much does it cost?
Each food unit costs $15.50. Specials are individually priced.
Do I qualify?
Yes, everyone qualifies. There are no income requirements to participate.
How does it work?
If you see a food package or special you like—you can order and pay for it with no future obligation.
What form of payment is accepted?
Cash or EBT are accepted at time of order.
When/where can I place an order?
Orders will be taken every Thursday from 3-4 pm at the PIA Food Pantry in Springfield Gardens and Mon, Wed, and Fri from 9-10 at the DeWitt Town Hall. Payment of $15.50 must be in cash or by using food stamp (FS) benefits. At the time of ordering the person noted on card must bring benefit card and ID. EBT approval dates vary from month to month but generally occur by the 11th of each month.

How much food is in a package? Up to date News and Menu
A standard food unit contains 10-12 items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, and staple food items. The value of the package varies but averages about $25.00.
When will I receive my food? Calendar
Food delivery dates vary monthly but will always be one Wednesday toward the end of each month at 1:30 pm. You will know in advance the specific date.
Tell me about food pick-up.
Food MUST be claimed on the scheduled pick up date/time otherwise we will consider it a donation to the PIA Food Pantry. If you have a conflict, you may have somebody else claim the order if you give them your receipt. Food may be claimed at either the David G. Klim Recreation Center or DeWitt Town Hall, however, you must indicate your preference at the time of order. |
