EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Full-Time Permanent

The Recreation Department consists of one full-time Director of Recreation, two Senior Recreation Leaders, one Program Site Manager, one Typist I, as well as four part-time Recreation Attendants.  All full-time positions in the Recreation Department are Onondaga County Civil Service positions having Open Competitive Tested Titles.  Recreation employees are in the White Collar division of the CSEA union.  Full-time openings are listed with Onondaga County Department of Personnel ( www.ongov.net/Employment ).  For information on openings call the Recreation Office at 446-9250 ext 9 or email recreation@townofdewitt.com. 

Full-Time Seasonal

As many as 80-100 full-time seasonal employees are hired during summer months.  Applications are generally accepted beginning in February.  To apply, stop in the Recreation Office located in the DeWitt Town Hall, 5400 Butternut Drive, between the hours of 8AM – 4PM Monday through Friday to pick up an employment application or download an application from this site, complete it, and send it in.  Preference is given to Town of DeWitt residents.

Part-Time

Throughout the year the Recreation Department has part-time openings.  These vary with the season and are program specific.  Some positions such as life guards and Learn-to-Swim instructors require certifications, others, such as Recreation Attendants do not.  Call the Recreation Office (446-9250 ext 9) or email mailto:recreation@townofdewitt.com for current part-time openings.
