EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Full Time Permanent

The Parks Department consists of one full-time Superintendent, as well as one shared and three permanent full-time laborers. All full-time positions in the Parks Department are civil service positions. Parks employees are in the Blue Collar division of the CSEA union with the exception of the Superintendent who is in the Supervisory division. Full-time openings are listed with Onondaga County Department of Personnel. The Superintendent of Parks is an Open Competitive tested Onondaga County title. Full Time Seasonal

As many as 6-8 full-time seasonal employees are hired during summer months. Applications are generally accepted in March and April. To apply, stop in the Recreation Office located in the DeWitt Town Hall (5400 Butternut Drive) between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday to pick up an employment application or download the General Employment Application here and submit it to the Recreation Office. Preference is given to Town of DeWitt residents.
