Following are some of the most helpful economic development aid programs presently available.
Empire Zone Program (EZ)
Industrial Access Program (IAP) - The New York State Deptpartment of Transportation’s IAP program funds up to one million dollars as a grant/interest-free loan (60/40) with a five year payback for industrial access projects (non- residential and non-retail) which have a municipal sponsor. Soft and hard costs as well as property acquisition are eligible for coverage.
Industrial Finance Program (IFC) - Larger environmental management projects (such as wastes management, pollution control, brownfields remediation, etc.) involving minimum loan amounts of $1.5 million, are eligible for low-cost finaning from the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporations. Financing runs 1 to 2 % below market interest rates and can cover both soft and hard costs.
Property Tax Abatement 485(b) – partial exemption for commercial and industrial real property investment of $10,000 or more is available to owners. Generally, the amount of the exemption is 50% of the increase in the assessed value attributable to the improvement with a 5% declining exemption each year to the tenth year.

Business Improvement District (BID) - If you and other nearby businesses have needs that only the Town can serve, a BID may provide the mechanism to deliver public services or improvements not otherwise available in your neighborhood.
