Habitat Gardening in Central New York (HGCNY)
HGCNY helps Central New Yorkers learn about the benefits of our native plants for both wildlife and people. Monthly meetings are free and open to the public. During the year, experts present programs on various topics, and in the summer the programs include visits to the local habitat gardens. HGCNY is a chapter of the national education and advocacy organization Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes. You may subscribe to the free local newsletter on the HGCNY website (add your email address to the box, "Join our FREE Newsletter List" about halfway down the page).
Friends of Clark Reservation State Park (CPF) The Council of Park Friends helps maintain, preserve, and interpret the exquisite natural settings home to the State Parks of central New York, especially Clark Reservation near Jamesville. Begun in 1982, CPF was organized to promote appreciation of the Parks as educational resources. CPF operates the Nature Center at Clark Reservation where naturalists offer programming on the botany, geology, and wildlife of the park through a series of scheduled events. |
