The Town of DeWitt compliance program stresses education and voluntary compliance to ensure public safety, convenience and an attractive community. For construction projects, a series of required inspections will be conducted to assure conformance with the New York State Building Codes and local laws. In maintaining a healthy, safe and attractive community, the Department of Development & Operations inspects existing structures and properties for conformance with New York State Property Maintenance and Fire Codes.
