The Community Sign, located at Erie Boulevard and Genesee Street, is available for use by Town of DeWitt based not-for-profit organizations to publicize community events in the Town. Other users may be approved on an individual basis by the Parks and Recreation Department upon request. To request space on the sign, contact the Recreation Office (446-9250 ext 9) to determine whether the sign is available, the week you need it. If the sign is available then you must complete the Community Sign Reservation form and submit it to the Recreation office with payment. The sign reservation is not confirmed until payment and application are received.
The following rules apply for the use of the sign:
1. The application must be received by the Recreation Office at least four weeks prior to the desired time of usage. 2. A check made out to the Town of DeWitt for thirty dollars ($30.00) per week or part thereof, shall accompany the application. 3. Use of the Sign shall be on a first come/first served basis. Any conflicts shall be resolved by the Parks and Recreation Department. 4. The normal period allocated for sign rental is one (1) week. 5. The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to: a) modify messages, and b) split the use of the sign such that only one face of the sign will be allocated for a given period if there are conflicting needs.
