Mission Statement
PEOPLE IN ACTION (PIA) is a community enrichment program addressing the problems faced by the residents of Springfield Gardens Apartments, a low-income housing facility in DeWitt.
The program is designed to meet the needs of school-age children and their families. PIA's goal is to develop in each resident a sense of dignity, self-reliance, and importance.

Recurring Needs
PIA works to meet the basic needs of the residents in the Springfield Gardens community. These needs are met by serving as an easily accessible and identifiable support mechanism.
Residents' challenges include educational issues, healthcare concerns, job training, transportation needs, and childcare services.
Through referral, direct service, and the establishment of community networking, PIA is able to make a positive impact on the quality of life. Services are provided for all residents, especially in times of crisis.
